Rosabelle Wolff is one of the protagonists of Shatter Me: The New Republic. She is a trained assassin who lives on Ark Island.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Rosabelle was trained from a young age by members of the Reestablishment to become an assassin and poster child for the government's ideals. Throughout her early life, there were several attempts made by Lieutenant Soledad and Sebastian Rivers to connect Rosabelle to the Nexus, a neurological system that connects the thoughts and emotions of the remaining members of the Reestablishment.

Rosabelle is very careful to hide her emotions and thoughts from others, repeating the mantra “I am dead inside, I’ve been dead inside for years". Her motivation for anything she does is the thought of her younger sister, Clara. Rosabelle is very skeptical of the world around her, always feeling like/thinking she is being watched.
Appearance[]
Rosa has a delicate, almost elfin appearance with a slight build. Her hair is a striking shade of white-blond. She has light, pale grayish-blue eyes. Her skin seems as smooth and clear as glass. She possesses an ethereal beauty. Her appearance is so flawless that, at first glance, James even mistakes her for a robot, later calling her an elf. In addition, when James holds her waist, he states it is concerningly small.
Special Abilities[]
Voluntary Suspended Animation: Rosabelle possesses the ability of voluntary suspended animation, allowing her to place her body into a vegetative-like state at will. In this state, her vital signs drop to undetectable levels, making her appear unconscious or even dead.
Relationships[]
James Kent[]
James and Rosabelle first meet when she is sent to kill him. Initially, he thinks she is “absurdly gorgeous” and “artificial intelligence”. She tries to kill him, and would have succeeded if not for his regenerative abilities. Once James is in the woods, Rosabelle watches him, and James is aware he is being watched. Eventually, James and Rosabelle escape from Ark Island. During the flight, the two have a conversation and James asks her when the last time she had eaten a meal, she loses consciousness. James serves as her "sponsor" while she is being held in the New Republic for "reform" and they grow romantic feelings for each other as he is meant to question and glean information from her.
