–Nazeera, Restore Me |
Nazeera Ibrahim is the daughter of the Supreme Commander of Asia, Musa Ibrahim, and sister of Haider Ibrahim.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nazeera was born in Baghdad, Iraq. She is the younger sister of Haider Ibrahim, and was raised by her father, Musa Ibrahim, whom she calls "Baba.” She described her father as someone who made Paris Anderson seem like a saint. Like all of the Supreme Commanders' children, Nazeera was raised to be lethal. She studied Japanese for a few years, along with multiple other languages. She went on an extensive tour of the re-mapped Asian continent after The Reestablishment came to power.
When she was eleven years old, Nazeera was forced to watch silently as her own father sent down the decrees to have Muslim women publicly stripped by soldiers and paraded in the street for wearing a hijab. She is used to boys her age being manipulative, condescending jackasses, including her brother, so she doesn't expect honesty and niceness.[1]
Restore Me[]
Aaron Warner warns Kenji Kishimoto and Juliette Ferrars that Nazeera is someone to worry about because she is quite cerebral.
She makes her first appearance at the dinner with her brother. She acts reserved and quiet, only speaking to Kenji when he interrogates her about her head covering. She is independent and fierce, flipping off Kenji when he questions her choice to wear it, despite The Reestablishment being against cultural clothing. After the meal, Kenji admits to being in love with Nazeera, who does not return the affection and tells him that he's attractive, but she would never date him.
After a morning walk, Juliette gets shot by an unknown man. Nazeera is the one to kill her attacker and rescue Juliette. When she is recovering and in a half-delirious state from the poison, Nazeera warns Juliette the people she trusts are liars and the Supreme Commanders want to kill her.
When Juliette breaks up with Warner and escapes from the building, Nazeera follows her to the highway and appears to her 50 feet in the sky, sitting on a road sign. She asks Juliette if she's ready to talk, then jumps down to the ground and lands easily. It becomes apparent to Juliette that Nazeera has an ability, and Nazeera confirms this by grabbing Juliette and then jumping into the sky, revealing that she can fly. She also demonstrates how she can turn invisible. Nazeera transports Juliette and herself to a tree, and they sit in its branches to talk about the new revelations in Juliette's life. During this conversation, she explains that she understands why Juliette likes Warner, telling Juliette about Warner's ex-girlfriend, Lena Mishkin, and warns her that nobody else knows about her powers. When Juliette asks Nazeera why she should trust her, Nazeera states she hates The Reestablishment and is trying to look out for her. Nazeera tries to warn Castle and Warner before the symposium that something bad was happening, but they ignored her.
Towards the end, after all the gunfire breaks out and Juliette kills the six hundred commanders, Juliette only sees Nazeera in the corner of her eye with her head in her hands. Later, in her childhood bedroom in New Zealand, Juliette discovers a polaroid picture of three girls next to their bikes. The picture is captioned "Ella, Emmaline, and Nazeera. No more training wheels."
Shadow Me[]
Nazeera tells Juliette, who tells Kenji, that The Reestablishment is going to destroy Sector 45. The children of the supreme commanders are there to monitor Juliette and send back information to their parents. Their parents want to know how the other sector leaders will react to Juliette. The Reestablishment plans to “take Juliette prisoner” and “bring her back in.”
Defy Me[]
Six weeks ago, Nazeera woke up remembering Ella Sommers. Then she started remembering Emmaline Sommers. She remembered that they had all grown up together and that their parents were friends. Nazeera had loved Ella and Emmaline like they were her sisters. Nazeera and Haider’s parents told them that Ella and Emmaline had drowned. Nazeera couldn’t stop crying over the loss of her closest friends. Then one day her mother took her to a place that looked like a hospital. Her mom told her she’d feel better soon. And then she remembers nothing.
After her memories started returning, Nazeera hacked into all her father’s files. She found everything, including the unspeakable horrors The Reestablishment did to Juliette over the course of twelve years. Haider has been remembering things about Ella as well. But his memories of her aren’t as strong as Nazeera’s. She trusted him enough to tell him what she’d discovered. Nazeera asked Haider to find out if any of the other supreme commanders’ kids were beginning to remember things too.
Nazeera shares all this information with Kenji, Castle, and the rest of the Omega Point members after they realize The Reestablishment has kidnapped Warner and Juliette and that they staged Juliette's killing of the leaders in order to undermine and discredit her. Nazeera reveals that she is actually against The Reestablishment. She explains that she “opened her eyes one day and realized that she was part and parcel of a system that was not only ravaging the world but also slaughtering everyone in it.”

Characteristics[]
Personality[]
Nazeera is initially silent during the dinner, but is not afraid to demonstrate her anger if provoked when she flips Kenji off. Warner explains his difficulty in understanding her, despite his ability to sense emotions, because her thoughts are very "flighty" and she is quiet and "like a hummingbird." She eventually begins to warm up to Juliette and they begin to trust each other. She is shown to be smart and resourceful as she singlehandedly hacked into the Reestablishment's database and had Warner appear as Juliette's family member and went through her father's computer and reports which led her to find out about the Supreme Commanders' plans with Juliette and Emmaline and about her memories being wiped alongside the rest of the Supreme kids.
Appearance[]
Nazeera is remarkably similar in appearance to her brother. She is very beautiful. Her eyes are deep and are a light honey color that is bright against her smooth brown skin. Kenji describes her as "so beautiful it scares him."[2] She looks younger and sweeter when she smiles. Nazeera has a diamond piercing underneath the center of her bottom lip and two piercings in her right eyebrow. She has dark, thick eyelashes and full lips. Although wearing a head covering is illegal under the Reestablishment, Nazeera covers her hair in an open act of rebellion. Nazeera has long, dark, silky, heavy hair.
Special Abilities[]
Flight: Nazeera has the ability of flight, but she has kept it hidden up until tracking down Juliette after Warner told her about her past. She kept it a secret in fear that she would become just another test subject like the rest of the Unnaturals.
Invisibility: Nazeera has the gift of invisibility. Juliette comments that Kenji will be upset because invisibility is his sort of thing, and Kenji does not like sharing the spotlight. Nazeera responds in surprise, not knowing that the same gift could be shared amongst different people. It was also how she was able to spy on Juliette.
Relationships[]
Kenji Kishimoto[]
The two first meet in Restore Me and it's clear that Nazeera wants nothing to do with him at first and is visibly annoyed with him. She acts as if she is always angry at Kenji and not interested in him. Nazeera later explains that when she met Kenji she thought he was playing mind games with her, as that was what she had come to expect from boys her age. She offers to "start over" with him and reintroduces herself. Kenji thinks Nazeera is a manipulative liar. As the series goes on, she befriends him. In Defy Me, they share a moment and later on and Ian Sanchez states that Nazeera and Kenji were hooking up. Kenji denys it and in response Ian says, " All right. . . Makes sense. I mean she's not even that pretty," to which Kenji is quick to defend her, stating that she's the most beautiful woman he's ever seen in his life. Nazeera confesses her feelings for Kenji in Reveal Me and says that he might be the best person she's ever met. When asked by Kenji why she hurt him, she stated she didn't mean to and that it was actually her way of showing she cares. During the battle with Anderson in Imagine Me, Nazeera is shown to be by Kenji's side and they hold hands briefly. When Nazeera was shot, Kenji states that it was the hardest thing that had happened to him and afterwards he visits her in the Medical Tent everyday. Nazeera states that she's coming along with Warner and Kenji to Oceania. Kenji is so relieved and happy when she returns that he gives her a hug and she reciprocates. When Nazeera considers and says she's going into the Reestablishment Building, Kenji says she shouldn't due to coming back from being shot, she states it was a fluke and promises Kenji she'll be okay and is about four months from being madly in love with him before flying away. In Believe Me, they are officially together when Warner describes Kenji puts his arm around her waist and she gives him a brief kiss on his jaw.
